Bio

Judit Mihalik is an independent researcher & a freelancer executive coach. She has more than 25 years of work and research experience. These days she is one of the very few Hungarian coaching experts who has a proper academic background, in line with sparkling business practice. During her interdisciplinary Ph.D. studies, she brought into focus how leaders communicate themselves. She is also interested in gender studies. Her business model is based on two pillars: besides her business clients, she has also pro bono clients. It is more than a marketing tool, or CSR-activity – it is a source of rejuvenation. Judit presumes that she has learnt most of her knowledge not from science but from her clients and from her three kids. Judit is co-author of the first Hungarian coaching handbook, in addition, she is publishing her studies in scientific and vocational journals and on her blogs regularly. She is one of the first Hungarian ambassadors of TEDx Conversations.

Session

In this session, Judit presents her Ph.D. research providing a completely new and fresh approach to leadership. Participants will get a short introduction to the theory of narrative identity, especially in terms of leadership and they will benefit also a proposal how to get deeper into it via coaching sessions. They will learn why it is so important to recognize and understand the stories of our executive clients, and how a good coach can help and let them tell their very own story towards their success. As a part of it, Judit also introduces us her method of storytelling development. As a self-based experiment, we’ll have a chance to test Judit’s Reflexive Self Biography Method on our life story.

Judit’s message: participants are kindly asked to prepare for this session by bringing a short (one-page) essay-style printed CV in order to have a more illuminating talk together. The written text itself will remain your private material, so try to be creative and straight.
